"In a world..." without Don LaFontaine

Best known as the "Voice-over guy" from movie trailers, and most predominately known for the phrase "In a world where...." Don LaFontaine passed away Monday of complications from a lung-related illness. While the industry now uses others to imitate LaFontaine's work... none will ever quite be as well remembered as Don.

Bring out "The Dead"

It's finally happening - well it could very well be. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are seriously considering bringing Evil Dead 4 to life sometime in the near future. And while Campbell isn't as young or as in shape, it almost lends more to the slacker hero that was Ash. Now if they can just find a few moments of spare time in their schedules and lend themselves to this awesomeness, we can all feel better about life. And from there, who knows? I've seen a treatment of "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash" and I know that I would be okay with that. And finally, for those real die-hard fans, Evil Dead: The Musical is coming to a close on September 6 in Toronto. So go and get your fill of Candarian Demons before the chance runs out.

Carlin Lives On

Here We Go... They're At It Again.

Jason Friedberg, Aaron Seltzer, and Carmen Electra (wait huh?) are at it yet again. For those of you who are still lost, all three are involved in yet another spoof movie "Disaster Movie" set be released in late August. Jason and Aaron who have written and directed other spoofs such as the Scary Movies, Date Movie, Epic Movie and Meet the Spartans have volunteered their best gal Carmen, who has played in Scary Movies 1&4, Date Movie, Epic Movie, and Meet the Spartans to "star" again; and Carmen seems more than up to the task to further her illustrious movie career.
"Disaster Movie" which is set to parody the likes of hit movies such as Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Superbad, The Love Guru, Speed Racer, Sex and the City (which may have been a parody of itself), along with many others leaves most viewers with a major question: Will this movie turn out as a flop (Epic Movie), moderately decent (Date Movie) or actually funny (Meet the Spartans, Scary Movie)? All in all, it might not be worth the price of admission and your best bet may to wait for it to be released on DVD.
